Installasi:

saya install masih dgn HDD & partisi MBR yang sama spt sebelumnya http://www.oprekpc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12478 dgn partisi OSX di-set Active.
bagi yang mo install di HDD kosong/baru, silakan coba GUID Partition Scheme karena secara teoretis lebih modern/baik dibanding MBR.
IMHO disarankan setiap akan install OSx86, sebaiknya waktu memformat partisi HFS+ pilih Security Option: Zero Out Data.

lalu sampai ke <--Komponen/Custom Install

Berdasarkan spek, maka ane cuma milih ini:
- Additional Fonts --> supaya bisa baca karakter Arabic, Chinese, Russian, dll.
- X11 --> X Window System yang dibutuhkan utk menjalankan bbrp program contohnya GIMP.
- Chipset: ICHx Fixed, JMicronATA
- Kernel: 9.4.0 Vanilla --> siapa tahu bisa jalan mulus pake kernel aslinya Mac, kalopun gak stabil nanti bisa ganti kernel lain.
- Network: Ethernet AppleYukon2
- Fix: AppleSMBIOS 800 <-- paling mendekati dgn spek memory DDR2 816 MHz.
- Video: Nvidia NVinject 0.2.1 512MB, dulu pernah milih yang 256MB sesuai VGA-nya, ternyata malah gak bisa boot.
- Beberapa aplikasi.
- Driver audio tidak ada yang dipilih karena tidak ada yang cocok.

Catatan: custom install ini sifatnya opsional boleh milih atau tidak sama sekali,
karena bisa juga diinstall belakangan setelah OS-nya sukses terinstall.
Tetapi *afaik* sebaiknya minimal memilih patch/driver pada bagian chipset sesuai speknya.
Tetapi *lagi* utk AMD users tentu saja harus menginstall AMD Patch, Kernel for AMD, dan ASU App (AMD Software Update).

Alhamdulillah, instalasi berjalan sukses <--click




Backup

Sebelum ngoprek lebih jauh, backup. Symantec Ghost masih setia menemani saya.
Proses backup/restore cuma makan waktu ~5 menit dgn fast compression mode.

berikutnya install driver audio, kebetulan udah punya driver Realtek ALC888 for ICH9 mobo chipset.

Install kext-nya pake OSX86Tools http://www.oprekpc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15058

Selesai install, JANGAN dulu restart, tapi jalankan dulu terminal dan ketik:

setelah itu baru restart.

lalu cek di System Preferences > Sound
wuih.. ternyata ada yang berbeda. sekarang terdetek Line Out, Line In, Microphone !!
sebelumnya waktu pakai iATKOS 1.0ir3 dan Kalyway, cuma terdetek 1 Line Out only.


AppleSMBIOS Fix

Seperti yang disebutkan di atas, PCku pake memory DDR2 816.
Oleh karena tadi menginstall AppleSMBIOS 800, maka yang tertera di About This Mac adalah DDR2 800 MHz.
Sebenarnya bisa diedit pake OSX86Tools, tapi saya lebih prefer install AppleSMBIOS-27 rev.6 by mac.nub

kemudian mengedit "com.apple.Boot.plist" via terminal:

diedit dgn menambahkan string "MemSpeed=816 MemType=DDR2" pada key "Kernel Flags"
juga mengedit timeout bootscreen-nya jadi 1 detik, spt ini:

setelah mengedit, tekan [Ctrl+O] lalu [Enter] lalu [Ctrl+X] dan ketik "exit"
repair permission di Disk Utility, lalu restart.

Maka "About This Mac" jadi spt ini <--click




Kernel

Ternyata terbukti apa yang ditakutkan, PCku gak bisa mulus pake kernel vanilla
selalu gak bisa shutdown normal. akhirnya back to v9.2.0 ToH Kernel & System.kext

Pesan:

• Biasakan menjalankan Repair Permission di Disk Utility terutama sebelum/setelah restart menginstall driver/kext.
  
• Jika setelah install driver dan tidak bisa boot normal, coba boot dgn opsi: -f -v
  
• Utk driver yang blom ada, silakan coba OSx86Tools utk download drivernya

Kesan:
Kalo dibandingkan dgn Kalyway 10.5.2,

• proses instalasi sama² mudah, sekali install langsung sukses.
  saya pernah coba iATKOS v2.0i v4.0i, semuanya harus mouse+key USB,
  kalo pake yang PS2 error boot sebelum/sesudah install, kalo pake yang cordless gak kedetek.
  pake JaS 10.5.4 gagal terus waktu erase partition dgn opsi Zero Out Data.
  
• di iDeneb audioku bisa kedetek 3 channel sedangkan di Kalyway cuma 1 channel. nanti akan saya coba oprek lagi Kalyway-nya.
  
• overall iDeneb kurang resposif suka tiba-tiba ngelag, di Kalyway responsif & smooth.
  Apa mungkin iDeneb kudu pake GUID? solanya kek ngelag krn pengaksesan drive/HDD.

Catatan: ini kesan di PCku loh, di PC lain sangat mungkin berbeda.
Apalagi banyak member forum.insanelymac.com yang berpendapat bahwa iDeneb ini adl distro OSx86 terbaik saat ini menurut mereka masing².

Sori lagi gak di depan pc, lagi pulkam. Ini cuma pake OM

1. Error parsing file: Tes dvdnya di pc lain, bisa boot normal ga.

2. Mentok di loading kernel: cek apakah ideneb nyedian kernel lain utk boot dvdnya kek kaliway.
Kalo ada, tes pake kernel lain. Afaik paling kompatibel adl 9.2.0 ToH/netkas kernel.
Boot dgn ngetikin nama kernelnya, contoh: toh_kernel -v
Utk tau bisa/gak, cek di infonya, atau cek isi root dvdnya.

afaik yg paling berpengaruh terhadap kestabilan dan kompatibilitas dlm OSx86 adl: Kernel+system.kext, AppleSMBIOS, dan Driver.
Sbg pembanding kernel, coba 9.2.0 ToH/netkas.
Utk driver sebisa mungkin pake EFI String, kalo gak ada ya kext juga cukup.
Sbg pembanding AppleSMBIOS, coba yg bikinan mac.nub aka iGuru. Defaultnya iDeneb pake bikinan netkas.

gw baru sempet jajal Toast 9.0.2 di Kalyway 10.5.5 kernel vanilla 9.5.0
tes bikin CD/DVD image .toast dari DVD-ROM IDE JMicron, lancar.

di iDeneb blom bisa jajal krn suka error gak bisa ngopi file.
artinya ada masalah dalam pembacaan file.

btw, gw perhatiin di kalyway, kok gak ada AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext ya?
di iDeneb gw coba del kext tsb langsung gak bisa booting "still waiting for root device.. "

Masalah burn file ato bikin ISO pake Toast di iDeneb sementara tetap buntu. Sebagai alternatif lain akhirnya pake program yg namanya DISCO bikinan discoapp. Lancaar...
Kesimpulan gw sementara, mungkin Toast 9 nya yg bermasalah dgn 10.5.4

v1.3 ada kekurangannya, yaitu harus nginstall driver/injector VGA,
kalo gak nginstall maka waktu booting layar akan blank no signal.
padahal kan gw mo pake GFX String
Jadinya terpaksa install dulu NVInject, baru ntar di-remove dan masukin GFX string.
sebelumnya v1.1 gak masalah walopun gak nginstall driver VGA.
