FlashBoot 1.3.0.128

http://www.prime-expert.com/

FlashBoot is a tool to make USB flash disks bootable. It is highly configurable, has many options and was designed to be compatible with all USB disks and BIOSes.

Product Features

FlashBoot is a tool to create bootable USB disks, USB Flash Memory keys and cards mainly. What are the benefits of such devices for you? Let's see: unlike the most bootable medias, bootable USB Flash keys are very handy: compared to floppies, they have much bigger size, speed and reliability, compared to CD-ROMs, they are random write access devices, so you can backup your data to the same media where you booted from, without need to reformat (reburn) the entire media. Again, the cost per megabyte for them continues to cut down, which is not the case for CD-ROMs and floppies.

And the most important thing is that you can use bootable USB Flash Disk almost everywhere, on any PC that has USB port. Are you going to repair your PC at your work without CD-ROMs, floppies or other media? No problems anymore. Or you have a laptop but without a CD-ROM drive? Even if with a CD-ROM drive, you can't work with it for a long time: boot device is accessed quite often, and battery power is obviously not enough to supply laser for a long time. Perhaps you are home user with a desktop PC. And you are ready to repair it with your favorite bootable CD-ROM, OK. But what if CD-ROM drive fails? Will you be able to boot or to get your backup data back?

With bootable USB Flash Memory key, you may boot every PC with USB ports, regardless of non-present or broken devices, because there's no need for any extra devices. You don't have a media size limit of 700 or 800 MB anymore, and buy a big or a small disk depending on your needs. Just after boot, on every PC, you may save your files to the same device from which you booted, or restore them back. There's no need to reformat (reburn) the boot disk, you just copy files and folders, and there's no need for extra hardware for such operations. Of course you may do some things you can't do under your OS: copy/modify system files (they are busy when OS is running), reinstall OS, repartition your main hard disk etc.

FlashBoot is a tool that makes USB disks bootable. It was specially designed to work with USB Flash devices. It is used to reformat flash disk (that's optional) and transfer system files to it. You have many options for your choice:

* convert BartPE bootable CD-ROM to bootable USB disk
* transfer DOS kernel only (you may get the files from installed Windows 9x, from Windows 9x setup folder, or use built-in FreeDOS)
* convert floppy disk to USB Flash disk (a diskette or an image file may be used)
* convert a bootable CD-ROM to USB Flash disk (again images are supported). There are some technical difficulties with supporting any type of CD-ROM here, see details below. But there should be no troubles with the most real cases. You may convert Knoppix and EBCD, for instance.
* create Windows NT/2000/XP password recovery disk
* create disk with NT/2000/XP bootloader. It would be useful when you have mistakenly configured it, and boot.ini file was left on unreachable disk (NTFS).
* duplicate USB flash disk. Just creates a copy of existing disk USB flash disk, different sizes of source and destination medias are OK.

Types of convertible CD-ROMs include so-called 1.44-floppy emulation bootable CD-ROMs and no-emulation CD-ROMs based on ISOLinux.

FlashBoot is designed to be compatible with all types of bootable USB Flash disks, i.e. it is not binded to Transend, Kingston, HP, or to any other particular manufacturer of USB Flash disks.

FlashBoot is designed to be compatible with most of the BIOSes. Some of them require USB disk to be partitioned (USB-HDD mode), some of them require superfloppy format (USB-ZIP mode). You may choose disk format type between partitioned disk and superfloppy, when formatting your USB Flash disk with FlashBoot (if you choose to reformat). You may write the output to image file, transfer it to another PC and write it to physical device there (either with FlashBoot or with any other suitable tool, for example, with Linux dd command).

Persiapan:
1. Program scanning antivirus dimatiin dulu.
2. USB-HDD (~10GB) saya format jadi satu partisi.

FlashBoot Wizard:

1. Jalankan FlashBoot & dan pilih opsi pertama "Convert BartPE bootable disk to bootable flash disk".

2. Pilih lokasi sumbernya dari file ISO apa CD-ROM.

3. Pilih abjad drive USB-HDD.

4. Terakhir, pilih format type "Partition disk (USB-HDD boot mode)"

5. dan tunggu hingga prosesnya selesai.

Testing:

Ditanya mau diperbaiki apa gak? Setelh dipilih Yes, skr jadi terdeteksi ada unallocated space.

PeToUSB - Boot BartPE From USB

Version: 3.0.0.7
License: Freeware
Info: http://gocoding.com/page.php?al=petousb
Download: http://gocoding.com/plug....p=petousb&rid=1
Size: 99 kB

Summary :
PeToUSB is a Win32 GUI application for formatting and making bootable,
USB Flash Memory Drives and USB HardDisks and optionally copying the output from a successful BartPE/WinPE build to the device.
There are options to backup/restore the MBR on a device.

Catagories :
* Development Status: Stable
* Operating System: Windows XP/2003
* Development Environment: MSVS.NET 2003

Boot your BartPE/WinPE from a USB Flash Disk Drive!
Also supports USB HardDisks.

PeToUSB is a GUI Win32 application that will partition, format
and makebootable to XP/W2K3 a USB Flash Disk (UFD). A lot of
utilities that say they can do this, actually cant.

PeToUSB does not make the device DOS bootable, it makes it XP
bootable (ie: the bootstrap code will look for NTLDR).

A lot of improvements have been made since version 2. Check
the change log for details. But in short its more compatible
with more devices, and easier to use with more functionality.

New Features/Changes:
o Rewrites the MBR code just in case its corrupted.
This option can be disabled if desired.
o On Removable media, the partition is completely rewritten.
o Backup/Restore MBR.
o View disk information.
o Assign drive letters.
o Automatic notification of device arrival/removal.
o Now supports WinPE builds as well.

To make a UFD bootable requires it to be formatted to FAT16,
the partition set as bootable AND the volume boot sector id
to be set to 0x80. If all this is done the UFD should be
bootable on any system whose BIOS can boot to USB-HDD. Some
UFDs partition tables have been set to a starting offset of
32 sectors, this will not be bootable under USB-HDD. It seems
that USB-ZIP requires this, USB-HDD requires offset of 63 sectors.

If your UFD still wont boot after this type of format then
either your UFDs chipset isnt capable or the BIOS on the
system you are trying to boot is either set incorerectly or
incapable of booting to UFD.

But PeToUSB does more than just make a UFD bootable. It will
also copy all the required files from a successful BartPE build,
to the UFD. The all that remains is for you to boot the stick
on a system.

Instructions
------------
o Build you BartPE/WinPE installation. No need to check the CD Record box.
o Insert your USB stick into the slot.
o BACK UP ANY DATA, BECAUSE WE ARE GOING TO FORMAT IT!
o Use Tools/Backup MBR to make a backup of the disks MBR.
(This can be restored later if things dont go as excpected)
o Remove any security options on the UFD as this will mess up any booting process.
o Extract PeToUSB.exe from its zip archive and run it.
o First we want to select the USB stick (Destination Drive).
In the window check your USB stick has been recognised.
There is a drop list containing all the detected removable
disks. If you cant see it. Then click the Refresh button.
Make sure you select the drive that you want to use.
o Next we want to get the path to our PE installation.
Click the [...] button and choose the path. The OK on
the Browse Dialog will not display until you select the correct folder.
o Next we want to choose our options. For the first run we need to choose:-
o Enable Disk Format
o Enable File Copy (if you are only wanting to format then leave this)
o Now we are ready to format the drive and copy the PE to the stick.
Click Start button and answer any confirmation boxes.
o Copying the files to a UFD takes a lot longer than to an
IDE drive. So dont worry about it taking some time. Just
watch the progress bar for an indication of how long it will take.
o After successfully completing the above operations. Your
stick is now ready to be booted on the target system.

SOME NOTES ON DISKS
-------------------
PeToUSB will list fixed and removable disks.
On the following conditions:-

It is LESS than 2GB. (It wont format FAT16 > 2Gb)
It is NOT the current system drive.
It is NOT the drive where PeToUSB is running from.

If it is a USB HardDisk (eg FixedMedia) then it must have its
partitions already defined, as PeToUSB will not partition these
devices due to possibilty of user losing their data when the
partitions are altered. And the first paritition starting at
Sector 63 and being less that 2Gb in size.

If it fails to format then check that the whole partition is
enclosed in the first 2Gb of the physical disk. The format
function will have problems if not.

SOME NOTES ON SETTING BIOS OPTIONS
----------------------------------
Im no expert at compatablity of BIOSs with UFDs.
But I have learnt a few things...

o In the BIOS boot sequence, set USB-HDD as the first boot device.
o Then make sure the Boot Other Devices is disabled.
o Save the BIOS settings. And power down.
o Stick you UDF in the slot and powerup.

These notes relate to AWARD-BIOS. Other BIOS manufacturers will
have different but similar settings. You may need to experiment!

System Requirements
-------------------
PeToUSB will run on windows XP/2003/BartPE and most 2000 Pro
It requires about 3Mb ram to run.
USB Disk Minimum Size of 256MB (dependant on size of PE build)

USB STICKS TESTED
=================
SanDisk Cruzer Mini SUCCESSFUL
PenDrive 2.0 Mini SUCCESSFUL
PQI iStick 2.0 SUCCESSFUL
I-Bead MP3 Player FAILED
(I think the UFD initializes too slow for the BIOS)

Dan urusan proses pembuatan multiboot, "he's the man!"...
